30,000 and Counting!

Boots for Israel started with a phone call just a few days after October 7th. Israeli General Daniel Jacobs heard there might be someone in Holliswood, Queens, NY that could help his unit get the tactical military boots they so desperately needed. Many of the reservists who returned to serve had broken old boots that would not serve them well in Gaza or Lebanon. Holliswood, Queens is known for a lot of things, but outfitting an army was never one of them! Regardless, teh community mobilized to help our Israeli brothers and sisters who are fighting on the front lines. By amazing luck, one of the our community members, a shoe wholesaler, happened to have these exact types of boot in stock in his warehouse. His generosity enabled getting the boots to Israel at dramatically reduced rates.

Word of Holliswood Boots for Israel has spread, and they receive requests daily from units across Israel in need of better army boots. They send specific sizes and the project gets them on a flight to Israel, often the very next day.

In Israel, volunteers sort and pack the boots in the city of Modiin, together with the project initiator-coordinator, Michal Wachstock.
